Equine Therapy for Veterans at Fieldstone Farm
Non-Profit
Fieldstone Farm is one of the largest and most respected equine
therapy centers in the country serving approximately 1,000 people with
emotional, physical and cognitive disabilities through the therapeutic power of
our horses. Our Veterans Program offers military and their families a place of
support, full of empathy and free of judgment.
Through working with
our highly trained team of therapists, instructors and horses, veterans learn skills
to work through and overcome the struggles and stressors of everyday civilian
life while healing from emotional and physical trauma. Veterans work
alongside a horse to build confidence and connection. Our experienced staff
creates a safe and accepting environment for our veterans and their families.
We see transformational changes in our veterans after bonding with our horses,
including:
·
Improved relationships
·
Greater confidence
·
Increased mindfulness
·
Reduced anxiety
·
Lower blood pressure
All of our veterans
programs are free thanks to generous donations. To learn more about our
programs for you or someone you care about, go to our website,

Veterans Community Project
Non-Profit
Established in Kansas City, Missouri, by a group of combat Veterans, Veterans Community Project provides high quality and well-developed strategic services that enable Veterans to meet the challenges of day-to-day living, resolve immediate crises, and move towards permanent stability.
VCP’s solution is simple: provide Veterans a home of their own and individualized, wraparound support services that not only help get them back on their feet but ensure they continue standing.
The tiny homes in VCP Village offer Veterans a sense of security, and the opportunity to reintegrate into the community at their own pace. Each home is pet-friendly and fully furnished with everything a Veteran needs, from new furniture to dish towels.
Specially trained case managers work one-on-one with each resident to achieve incremental, lasting results in the areas of health and wellness, education, employment, financial literacy, and the development of a personal support network. When the Veteran is ready, VCP provides support in finding a long-term housing solution, which may include market-rate rentals, homeownership, or subsidized housing. Not only does the Veteran take the entire contents of the tiny house with them, but they take the ongoing support of the Village as well.

Fisher House Foundation
Non-Profit
Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital.
These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.
Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room.
Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $610 million in out-of-pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses, and children of fallen and disabled veterans.
